The eight strongest SocialPilot alternatives in 2026 are PostMonk, Metricool, Buffer, Planable, Agorapulse, Sendible, Hootsuite, and Loomly. Each one fixes a different SocialPilot limitation. Analytics reach five of its ten networks, so TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads, and Bluesky report nothing. Failed posts generate no alert. AI runs on metered credits with no bring-your-own-key option. Bulk CSV scheduling and white-label reports sit behind the $100 per month Premium tier.
We scored all eight on the same seven-category rubric we apply to every scheduler. Below you get the ranked quick list, an honest read on why teams leave SocialPilot, and where it still wins. Then the criteria that matter for this migration, a scored comparison table, and a full evaluation of each tool. Every tool section ends with the steps for moving your accounts and your queue across.
Best SocialPilot Alternatives at a Glance
These eight tools are ordered by switching-fit tier first, then by overall review score within each tier.
-
PostMonk: best for leaving the subscription entirely, one-time pricing from $29 with five-provider BYOK AI (Tier 1).
-
Metricool: best for closing the reporting gap, covering social, web, and paid ad data in one dashboard (Tier 1).
-
Buffer: best for a permanent free plan and a simpler interface than SocialPilot’s (Tier 1).
-
Planable: best for multi-stage client approvals, four approval modes against SocialPilot’s single gate (Tier 2).
-
Agorapulse: best for a real social inbox and Google Analytics ROI tracking (Tier 2).
-
Sendible: best for agency client workspaces and Client Connect credential-free onboarding (Tier 2).
-
Hootsuite: best for enterprise social listening through Talkwalker and 100-plus integrations (Tier 3).
-
Loomly: best for visual brand calendars, but read the pricing structure first (Tier 3).
Disclosure: This guide is written by the PostMonk team. PostMonk competes with SocialPilot and every tool listed here, and it appears in the ranking scored by the same rubric as everyone else. It sits at position 1 because it holds the highest overall score in the top switching-fit tier, not because we publish the page.
How we score: Every product carries the overall score from our published review methodology. That rubric weights scheduling 25%, channels and integrations 20%, content creation 15%, and analytics 15%. Ease of use, pricing, and support carry the remaining 25%. This list is ordered by switching-fit tier, then by that score. Read the full method at how we review social media management tools.
Why People Switch from SocialPilot
Teams leave SocialPilot mainly because reporting is thin where it matters, and because failed posts generate no alert. Analytics skip TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads, and Bluesky entirely, and the reports agencies need sit two tiers up. SocialPilot still wins on flat-tier pricing, a 500-post bulk CSV scheduler, and an MCP server included on every plan from $30 per month.
SocialPilot earns 3.6 out of 5 in our own review, and the strengths behind that number are real. It rates 4.5 out of 5 on G2 across 846 reviews and 4.4 on Capterra across 374. Its plans are flat-tier rather than per seat: $30 per month buys 7 accounts, and $50 buys 15 accounts and 3 team members. One agency operator on r/PostPlanify put it plainly: “SocialPilot is genuinely decent for agencies.”
One counter-signal belongs beside those ratings. Trustpilot scores SocialPilot 2.6 out of 5 across 38 reviews, concentrated on billing disputes, refund friction, and slow support replies. The sample is small next to G2’s 846, so read it as a billing warning rather than a product verdict.
The switching pressure comes from five specific friction points.
-
Analytics cover five of ten networks and hide depth behind two paywalls: SocialPilot’s reporting returns performance data for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and Google Business Profile. TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads, and Bluesky schedule fine but report nothing. Depth is gated too. Detailed analytics start at Standard ($50), custom, competitor, and white-label reports at Premium ($100), and 24 months of history at Ultimate ($200).
-
Failed posts fail silently: SocialPilot sends no notification when a scheduled post does not publish. In an agency queue running dozens of posts a day, you find out by checking manually.
-
AI is metered with no BYOK: credits run 500 on Essentials, 1,000 on Standard, and 5,000 on Premium. There is no way to connect your own OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini key.
-
Agency features sit behind the $100 tier: bulk CSV scheduling, custom fields, white-label reports, and client management all require Premium. Detailed analytics, approval workflows, and the social inbox all require Standard at $50.
-
No permanent free plan: SocialPilot offers a 14-day trial and a separate 100-credit trial, then payment starts. Buffer, Metricool, and Planable all run permanent free tiers, so you can keep a fallback account open indefinitely.
Honest carve-out: SocialPilot remains the right tool for agencies posting mainly to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X. At $50 per month for 15 accounts and 3 users, nothing on this list beats it on cost per account. Its MCP server is also available from the entry plan, which most tools here do not match. The alternatives below win when your network mix, your AI workflow, or your reporting needs fall outside that box. The full platform audit is in our SocialPilot review.
How to Choose a SocialPilot Alternative
Which SocialPilot limitation is pushing you out determines which of these six criteria matters most.
Analytics coverage: which of your networks actually report
Check the alternative’s analytics list against the networks you post to, not the networks it schedules. SocialPilot schedules ten networks and reports on five, and several alternatives repeat that pattern in their own way. Planable is the cautionary case. Its analytics is a $14 per workspace per month add-on, and it excludes X, Pinterest, and Threads even though all three can be scheduled.
Check the tier gate as well as the network list. SocialPilot puts detailed analytics on Standard, custom and competitor reports on Premium, and two years of history on Ultimate. Metricool and Hootsuite are the two tools here with reporting depth clearly beyond SocialPilot’s at any tier.
Pricing model: flat tier, per seat, per channel, per workspace, or one-time
SocialPilot’s flat tiers are one of its strongest features, so a per-seat alternative can cost far more at the same headcount. Agorapulse charges $79 per user per month, so a three-person team pays $237. Buffer charges per channel, Planable per workspace, and PostMonk charges once per workspace with no renewal. Model the cost at your real account count and headcount before comparing sticker prices.
AI model control: metered credits or bring your own key
Bring-your-own-key AI lets you connect your own provider account and pay API rates directly. SocialPilot meters AI in credits and offers no key connection. So do seven of the eight tools below. PostMonk is the only one here with multi-provider BYOK. If you already pay for OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini, metered credits mean paying for AI twice.
Agent access: what an MCP server can actually do
MCP access is not a yes or no question, so check what the agent is allowed to do. SocialPilot’s MCP server is on every plan and can create, schedule, publish, and monitor posts. Buffer’s covers posts, ideas, and queue only. Planable’s creates drafts but cannot publish, and Agorapulse positions its server as an assistant rather than an agent. Hootsuite, Sendible, and Loomly have no MCP server at all. On this dimension SocialPilot is ahead of most of its alternatives.
Check network coverage inside the MCP server too, because it rarely matches the scheduler. SocialPilot’s agent reaches Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, Threads, and Bluesky: seven of the ten networks it schedules. TikTok, YouTube, and Google Business Profile are absent from that list, so agent-driven publishing to those three is manual work.
Free plan or trial only
SocialPilot gives a 14-day trial, so a permanent free tier is a genuine upgrade if you are still testing. Only three tools here run one: Buffer, Metricool, and Planable. Read the cap, not the word free. Metricool allows 20 scheduled posts a month and excludes LinkedIn and X on its free tier. Planable caps at 50 posts for the lifetime of the account, not per month, and blocks X publishing.
Agorapulse, Sendible, Hootsuite, and Loomly are trial-only, so they carry the same evaluation clock SocialPilot does. Agorapulse gives the longest run at 30 days.
Agency gating: where white-label and client workspaces begin
SocialPilot puts white-label reports, client management, and bulk CSV scheduling on Premium at $100 per month. Two alternatives are commonly presented as the cheaper white-label route, and neither is. Sendible’s white-label plans start at $299 per month. Sendible also gates approval workflows and multiple workspaces to Plus at $89 per month. PostMonk includes white-label PDF reports and client portals on its $99 one-time Agency tier.
Our guide to choosing a social media management platform covers these criteria across the wider category.
SocialPilot Alternatives Compared
This table puts all eight alternatives beside SocialPilot on the dimensions that drive the switch.

Tools we considered and left out
Five names dominate the rest of this SERP, and none of them earned a section here.
-
Publer and SocialBee: both are close matches on price and recycling depth. Neither adds a capability the eight tools above do not already cover better.
-
Sprout Social: listening and enterprise analytics overlap with Hootsuite, at a higher entry price than most SocialPilot refugees will accept.
-
Later: visual-first planning for Instagram and TikTok, which solves a different problem than the ones that push people off SocialPilot.
-
Zoho Social: cheap and competent, but it pulls you toward the wider Zoho suite rather than solving a specific SocialPilot friction.
1. PostMonk: Best for Lifetime Pricing and Multi-Provider BYOK AI (3.7/5)
PostMonk is the tool we built, and it scores 3.7 out of 5 on the same rubric we apply to every scheduler. It answers one SocialPilot complaint directly: the recurring bill. Workspaces are bought once, at $29 for Starter, $59 for Pro, and $99 for Agency. There is no monthly invoice, no annual renewal, and no per-seat charge.
It is not a like-for-like replacement. PostMonk has no independent review record and no social listening, and the Cons section below is specific about the rest.
Best for: Teams leaving SocialPilot to stop paying a subscription, who want their own AI provider key.
Key Features
PostMonk publishes to 9 networks and reports on all of them, including the TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads, and Bluesky data SocialPilot leaves out.
-
Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, and Bluesky, each with analytics
-
BYOK AI on every paid plan: connect OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, OpenRouter, or DeepSeek and pay API rates directly
-
Managed AI credits if you prefer no key: 8,000 on Starter, 20,000 on Pro, and 40,000 on Agency, as lifetime pools
-
MCP server on Pro and Agency: agents can create, update, approve, reject, and retry posts, and read analytics
-
Failed post retry with notification: the exact gap SocialPilot leaves open
-
Brand Assets: saved per-brand profiles holding accounts, AI voice, hashtags, UTM defaults, and posting cadence
-
Bulk CSV import at 500 posts per batch on Pro and 2,000 per batch on Agency
-
White-labeled PDF reports, client approval portals, and a custom domain on Agency
Pros
These are the differences that matter most coming from SocialPilot.
-
One-time payment per workspace. Pro at $59 costs less than two months of SocialPilot Standard.
-
Multi-provider BYOK AI on every paid plan, the only such option among these eight tools
-
Analytics on all 9 published networks, so no channel you post to goes unreported
-
Failed posts trigger a retry and a notification, which SocialPilot does not do
-
REST API and webhooks on Pro and Agency, where SocialPilot keeps its API on Enterprise
-
White-label PDF reports at $99 once, against SocialPilot’s $100 per month Premium tier
Cons
These are real limits, and two of them are dealbreakers for some SocialPilot users.
-
No public reviews on G2, Capterra, or Trustpilot. PostMonk is pre-traction, so no independent user record exists.
-
No permanent free plan. The trial runs 7 days with no credit card required.
-
9 networks against SocialPilot’s 10. Google Business Profile is not live.
-
No social listening and no competitor benchmarking. Competitor analysis is scheduled for V2.
-
MCP, REST API, webhooks, and bulk CSV import all require Pro at $59. Starter has none of them.
-
Analytics depth is tier-gated. Hashtag analytics, account comparison, best time to post, and CSV export need Pro. White-label PDF reports need Agency.
-
No mobile app is confirmed, where SocialPilot’s mobile app is well rated.
-
No Slack, WordPress, Shopify, or Feedly integrations, all four of which SocialPilot lists.
Pricing
All three PostMonk plans are one-time payments with no recurring charge.
| Plan | Price | Social accounts | Team seats | Brand Assets | MCP and API |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $29 one-time | 5 | 1 | 1 | No |
| Pro | $59 one-time | 25 | 3 | 5 | Yes |
| Agency | $99 one-time | 100 | 10 | 25 | Yes |
Every workspace starts with a 7-day free trial and no credit card. A 30-day money-back guarantee applies after activation. Extra AI credits, accounts, seats, and Brand Assets are sold as one-time add-ons inside workspace settings.
Our PostMonk vs SocialPilot comparison has the feature-by-feature breakdown, including the tier where each capability becomes available.
What Users Say
PostMonk has no reviews on G2, Capterra, or Trustpilot at the time of writing. The brand is pre-traction, so there is no third-party sentiment to quote and we will not invent any. Everything above traces to PostMonk’s product documentation and our own scoring. If independent review volume is part of your buying criteria, that is a genuine reason to pick another tool on this list.
Migrating from SocialPilot to PostMonk
PostMonk publishes no SocialPilot-specific migration tool, so the CSV route below is the practical path.
-
Export your queue from SocialPilot’s Content Library as CSV, in the format its bulk scheduler uses.
-
Export or screenshot your analytics reports. No tool imports another tool’s historical analytics.
-
Download the media assets stored in SocialPilot’s Content Library.
-
Disconnect your social accounts from SocialPilot without deleting the native accounts.
-
Start a PostMonk workspace and reconnect each account through its own OAuth flow.
-
Import the CSV. Bulk import needs Pro or Agency, so Starter users re-create posts manually.
-
Add your AI provider key under Settings, then AI.
-
Build one Brand Asset per client to carry hashtags, UTM defaults, and posting cadence across.
Approval workflows, tags, and saved mention groups do not transfer and need rebuilding by hand. Reconnecting accounts is the slow step, because each network runs its own authorisation flow.
2. Metricool: Best for Closing the Analytics Gap (3.5/5)
Metricool scores 3.5 out of 5 and is the direct answer if reporting drove you off SocialPilot. It unifies social, website, and paid ad data in one dashboard, with competitor benchmarking on every plan and a Looker Studio connector on Advanced. Nothing else on this list measures web traffic and ad spend beside organic social.
Its MCP server is available on the free plan, which is the widest agent access of any tool here. The tradeoff is that its AI is metered exactly like SocialPilot’s.
Best for: SocialPilot users who want one measurement dashboard covering social, web, and paid ads together.
Key Features
Metricool’s strength is measurement, and its scheduling is competent rather than remarkable.
-
Unified analytics across social, website, and paid ad data in a single dashboard
-
Competitor benchmarking on every plan, from 5 profiles on Free to 100 on Starter
-
One-click branded PDF reports and a Looker Studio connector on Advanced
-
Metricool MCP on every plan including Free, though the write surface is schedule and update only
-
Brand-slot pricing, so the bill scales with brand count rather than with seats
-
Post approval workflow, role management, and API access on Advanced
Pros
Coming from SocialPilot, three of these are immediate upgrades.
-
Analytics depth well beyond SocialPilot’s, including website traffic and paid ad performance
-
Permanent free plan for 1 brand, against SocialPilot’s 14-day trial
-
Advanced covers 15 brands at $53 per month, which beats SocialPilot’s per-account math
-
MCP available on the free plan, where PostMonk requires Pro
-
Branded PDF reports with no $100 per month gate
Cons
Two of these repeat SocialPilot’s limitations rather than fixing them.
-
AI is credit-metered with no BYOK option, exactly as on SocialPilot
-
Full X/Twitter analytics is a paid add-on on Starter, not part of the plan price
-
Advanced Analytics, which extends history and opens Metricool Studio, is a further add-on
-
The free plan caps scheduling at 20 posts a month, stores 30 days of analytics, and excludes LinkedIn and X
-
Auto-renewal billing is a documented complaint pattern in G2 reviews
-
No built-in media library, so every upload starts from your device. SocialPilot’s Content Library has no Metricool equivalent.
Pricing
Metricool prices by brand slot rather than by seat, so the bill climbs with brand count.
| Plan | Annual billing | Monthly billing | Brands |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 1 |
| Starter | $20/mo | $25/mo | 5 |
| Starter | $36/mo | $45/mo | 10 |
| Advanced | $53/mo | $67/mo | 15 |
| Advanced | $85/mo | $107/mo | 25 |
| Advanced | $159/mo | $210/mo | 50 |
X/Twitter analytics and Advanced Analytics are separate add-ons, so confirm both on the Metricool pricing page before committing. Advanced Analytics runs about $12 a month on Starter and $36 a month on Advanced.
What Users Say
Metricool’s analytics are its most-praised feature across review platforms, and billing is its most-criticised. A verified G2 reviewer described being “blindsided by a $324 auto-renewal charge” on an account inactive for years. Turn auto-renewal off in billing settings immediately after signup. The full breakdown is in our Metricool review.
Migrating from SocialPilot to Metricool
Metricool publishes no SocialPilot import tool, so the move is manual. Export your SocialPilot queue and analytics first, disconnect the accounts, then reconnect them under a Metricool brand. Each brand slot is configured separately, so an agency with 10 clients repeats the setup 10 times. Metricool starts collecting analytics from the connection date, so run both tools in parallel for a month if you need continuous reporting.
For the direct head-to-head, see PostMonk vs Metricool. If Metricool is not the fit, we also cover other tools in Metricool’s class.
3. Buffer: Best for a Permanent Free Plan and a Simpler Interface (3.5/5)
Buffer scores 3.5 out of 5 and is the lightest tool on this list. Its free plan covers 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each, permanently. Paid plans run $5 per channel per month on Essentials and $10 on Team, both at annual billing. Its ease of use rates 4.5 out of 5 in our review, the joint highest in this pool alongside Loomly.
Buffer is a step down from SocialPilot on feature depth, and that is the point for people leaving because SocialPilot felt overloaded.
Best for: Solo operators and small teams who want a free tier and less interface than SocialPilot offers.
Key Features
Buffer covers 11 networks and keeps the feature set deliberately narrow.
-
Permanent free plan with 3 channels, 10 scheduled posts per channel, and 100 ideas
-
Content calendar, queue scheduling, first comment, hashtag manager, and channel groups
-
AI Assistant on OpenAI with no credit cap, and no option to supply your own key
-
Native MCP server at mcp.buffer.com on every plan including Free
-
API access on all plans, from 1 key and 3,000 requests a month on Free
-
Approval workflows, branded reports, and unlimited team members on the Team plan
Pros
Buffer fixes two SocialPilot complaints and matches it on a third.
-
Permanent free plan against SocialPilot’s 14-day trial
-
The simplest interface in this pool, at 4.5 out of 5 for ease of use in our scoring
-
MCP available on every plan, including Free, which even SocialPilot does not offer
-
Unlimited AI generations rather than a 500 to 5,000 credit allowance
-
Nonprofit discount of 50% on paid plans, and volume discounts from the 11th channel
Cons
Per-channel pricing is the reason people leave Buffer, and it is worth checking before you arrive.
-
10 channels on the Team plan costs $100 a month at annual billing, against $50 for SocialPilot Standard
-
Analytics score 2.5 out of 5 in our review, which is shallower than SocialPilot’s
-
No social listening, no competitor benchmarking, and no paid social integration
-
AI runs on OpenAI only, with no model choice and no BYOK
-
MCP scope stops at posts, ideas, queue, and channels. Analytics and community actions are listed as coming next.
-
Posts have been documented failing silently, the same gap SocialPilot has
Pricing
Buffer bills per channel, so the total scales with the number of accounts rather than the plan.
| Plan | Annual billing | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 3 channels, 10 scheduled posts per channel, 1 user |
| Essentials | $5/channel/mo | Unlimited posts, advanced analytics, hashtag manager |
| Team | $10/channel/mo | Unlimited team members, approval workflows, branded reports |
Monthly billing costs about 20% more, and a 14-day trial covers the paid plans. Current figures are on the Buffer pricing page.
What Users Say
Buffer’s simplicity is the most consistent praise across review platforms, and analytics depth is the most consistent criticism. G2 reviewer Raj P. summarised the reporting limit as “the analytics… don’t go deep enough for serious campaign analysis”. The same reviewer logged “a post failed silently no notification, no error message”. Our full Buffer review covers the API and MCP scope in detail.
Migrating from SocialPilot to Buffer
Buffer has no SocialPilot importer, and its free plan makes a parallel run cheap. Connect 3 channels on Free while your SocialPilot plan runs out, and rebuild a week of the queue by hand to test publishing reliability. There is no CSV bulk import on Buffer, so a large backlog has to be re-entered post by post. Count your channels before upgrading, because the per-channel bill is what decides whether Buffer is cheaper than SocialPilot for you.
See PostMonk vs Buffer for the direct contrast, or our roundup of tools that compete with Buffer if it is not the right landing spot.
4. Planable: Best for Multi-Stage Client Approvals (3.6/5)
Planable scores 3.6 out of 5 and holds the highest user-satisfaction ratings in this pool. It rates 4.6 on G2 from 1,075 reviews and 4.5 on Capterra from 326. It exists for one job, which is getting client content approved before it publishes.
The contrast with SocialPilot is structural. SocialPilot treats approval as a single yes or no gate. Planable supports four approval modes: none, optional, required, and multi-level. Read the tier gate before you budget. Basic carries none and optional only, Pro adds required, and sequential multi-level chains are Enterprise-only. Clients comment on pixel-accurate previews without creating an account.
Best for: Agencies whose real bottleneck is chasing client sign-off, not scheduling volume.
Key Features
Planable’s feature set is built around review and sign-off rather than publishing scale.
-
Four approval modes, from none and optional on Basic to required on Pro and multi-level chains on Enterprise
-
Shareable client review links that need no client login or platform access
-
Native-style previews showing exactly how a post renders per network
-
Nine supported networks, with Canva, Slack, and Zapier integrations
-
MCP connector on all paid plans, limited to drafting and workspace organisation
-
REST API on Pro and above, absent from Basic
Pros
Every one of these addresses something SocialPilot does not do well.
-
Approval depth no other tool in this pool matches, including SocialPilot’s single gate
-
Clients review and comment without an account, which removes the credential problem entirely
-
Ease of use rates 4.7 out of 5 on Capterra, its highest dimension
-
Per-workspace pricing removes per-seat cost pressure for small teams
-
Unlimited users on every paid plan, so adding a teammate costs nothing
Cons
The per-workspace model and the analytics gap are the two real constraints.
-
Analytics is a paid add-on at $14 per workspace per month, and excludes X, Pinterest, and Threads
-
The social inbox is a further $9 per workspace per month add-on
-
Ten client workspaces on Pro costs $490 a month before add-ons, against $100 for SocialPilot Premium
-
The free plan caps at 50 posts for the account lifetime, not per month, and cannot publish to X
-
MCP creates drafts but cannot schedule or publish, so no agent completes the loop
-
Multi-level approval chains need a custom-priced Enterprise contract. Pro’s required mode is a single approval layer.
-
Posts are capped per workspace: 60 a month on Basic and 150 on Pro, where SocialPilot caps nothing
-
Instagram Stories crashes are a documented pattern in review data
Pricing
Planable bills per workspace, so the cost scales with client count rather than seats.
| Plan | Annual billing | Monthly billing | Posts per month | Social pages |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $33/workspace/mo | $39/workspace/mo | 60 | 4 |
| Pro | $49/workspace/mo | $59/workspace/mo | 150 | 10 |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Unlimited | 50 |
Five clients on Pro reaches $245 a month, and ten reaches $490, before the analytics and inbox add-ons. Those add-ons cost $14 and $9 per workspace per month, so ten workspaces adds $230. Verify tiers on the Planable pricing page.
What Users Say
Planable’s approval workflow is the single most-praised feature across G2, Capterra, and Trustpilot, where it holds 4.3 out of 5 from 71 reviews. The recurring criticism is cost at client scale, and the second is analytics being an add-on. Reviewers who manage under 10 clients rarely raise either. Our Planable review works through the per-workspace maths in full.
Migrating from SocialPilot to Planable
Planable offers no SocialPilot import path, and the migration is a workflow change more than a data move. Create one workspace per client, invite the client to the review link, and rebuild your approval chain in Planable’s modes. Your SocialPilot queue does not transfer, so schedule the next two weeks manually while both tools run. Budget for the analytics add-on from day one if you send client reports.
Compare them directly in PostMonk vs Planable, or see other approval-first tools if the pricing does not work.
5. Agorapulse: Best for Social Inbox and Google Analytics ROI Tracking (3.5/5)
Agorapulse scores 3.5 out of 5 and covers the conversation side that SocialPilot handles thinly. Its unified inbox carries saved replies, conversation labelling, automated moderation rules, and spam filters. Its Google Analytics integration tracks conversion events along the social-to-web journey. SocialPilot passes UTM parameters on every plan, but publishes no equivalent conversion dashboard.
The cost model is the catch. Agorapulse bills per user, so it inverts the flat-tier advantage that made SocialPilot attractive.
Best for: Community managers who spend more time replying than scheduling and need social ROI attribution.
Key Features
Agorapulse is an engagement and measurement tool with scheduling attached.
-
Unified inbox across networks with saved replies, labels, and assignment
-
Automated moderation rules and spam filtering on Advanced
-
Google Analytics integration with social ROI reporting on Advanced
-
Competitor benchmarking and advanced reporting on Advanced
-
Self-hosted MCP server positioned as an assistant, not an agent
-
A 30-day free trial with no credit card, the longest evaluation window on this list
Pros
The inbox and attribution capabilities are genuinely absent from SocialPilot.
-
Full social inbox with saved replies and automated rules, where SocialPilot gates its inbox to Standard
-
Google Analytics conversion tracking from social to web
-
A 30-day trial, more than twice SocialPilot’s 14-day window, with no card required
-
Unlimited posts on every paid tier
Cons
Per-user pricing is the reason most SocialPilot users rule it out.
-
$79 per user per month on annual billing. A three-person team pays $237, against SocialPilot Standard at $50.
-
ROI analysis and automated moderation require Advanced at $149 per user per month
-
Power Reports carry costs that are not published on the pricing page
-
No BYOK AI, and the MCP cannot schedule, approve, or act without a human
-
No permanent free plan. The former free tier is gone, so evaluation ends after 30 days.
Pricing
Agorapulse bills per user, so headcount rather than account count drives the total.
| Plan | Annual billing | Monthly billing | Social profiles |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $79/user/mo | $99/user/mo | 10 |
| Professional | $119/user/mo | $149/user/mo | 15 |
| Advanced | $149/user/mo | $199/user/mo | 20 |
Confirm plan gating on the Agorapulse pricing page, because the ROI dashboard sits higher than the Google Analytics connection.
What Users Say
Agorapulse reviewers consistently name the inbox and the reporting as the reasons they stay. The consistent complaint is cost at team scale, which matches the per-user arithmetic above. AI capability is the other recurring gap, since there is no key option and no autonomous agent. Our Agorapulse review covers the undisclosed Power Reports pricing in detail.
Migrating from SocialPilot to Agorapulse
Agorapulse publishes no SocialPilot importer, and the 30-day trial is long enough for a real parallel test. Route a month of inbound messages through the inbox and confirm the reply volume justifies the per-user price. Your SocialPilot queue does not migrate, so rebuild it after you commit to a paid tier. Connect Google Analytics on day one, because attribution data only accumulates from the connection date.
See PostMonk vs Agorapulse for the head-to-head, or other inbox-first tools if the per-user model rules it out.
6. Sendible: Best for Agency Client Workspaces (3.3/5)
Sendible scores 3.3 out of 5 and targets the same agency buyer SocialPilot serves. Its differentiator is Client Connect, which onboards a client’s accounts without the agency holding their credentials. It rates 4.5 on G2 from 905 reviews and 4.6 on Capterra from 137.
One correction matters before you evaluate it. Sendible is widely presented as the cheaper white-label alternative to SocialPilot, and the opposite is true.
Best for: Agencies that need credential-free client onboarding and automated branded reporting.
Key Features
Sendible’s feature set is organised around client operations rather than publishing volume.
-
Client Connect for credential-free client account onboarding
-
Report Hub with automated, scheduled, branded client reports
-
Separate client workspaces with role-based team permissions
-
Approval workflows and assignment, from the Plus plan upward
-
Bulk posting with dynamic fields on Elite
-
Zapier as the only confirmed automation route, with no public API docs and no MCP server
Pros
The client-operations layer is deeper than SocialPilot’s equivalent.
-
Client Connect removes the credential handover that SocialPilot still requires
-
Report Hub automates recurring branded client reports
-
Unlimited users on every plan, where SocialPilot allows 1 on Essentials and 3 on Standard
-
Workspace separation per client rather than tag-based account grouping
-
Long operating history since 2009 with more than 30,000 customers
Cons
The price steps and the white-label figure are the two things to check first.
-
White-label plans start at $299 per month, which is three times SocialPilot’s $100 Premium tier
-
Approval workflows and multi-client workspaces start at Plus, a 4.7x jump from $19 to $89
-
LinkedIn reauthorisation failures are a documented, recurring complaint
-
No social listening, no BYOK AI, and no MCP server
-
No public API documentation or webhooks, so Zapier is the automation ceiling
-
No permanent free plan
Pricing
Sendible renamed its plans in July 2026, so every roundup still quoting Creator at $29, Traction, or Scale is out of date.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual (total) | Social profiles | Workspaces |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Core | $19/mo | $193/yr | 6 | 1 |
| Plus | $89/mo | $907/yr | 18 | 3 |
| Premium | $199/mo | $2,029/yr | 42 | 7 |
| Elite | $399/mo | $4,071/yr | 90 | 15 |
| Enterprise | From $839/mo | Custom | 300+ | 50+ |
Every plan includes unlimited users, and annual billing saves roughly 15%. White Label is a paid add-on from Premium upward, with white-label plans starting at $299 a month. Confirm the current structure on the Sendible pricing page.
What Users Say
Sendible reviewers name Client Connect, approval workflows, and reporting as the reasons agencies adopt it. The recurring criticisms are LinkedIn reauthorisation failures and the size of the gap between Core and Plus. Its AI layer is described as thin, with no hashtag generation and no key option. Our Sendible review walks through the plan-gap arithmetic.
Migrating from SocialPilot to Sendible
Sendible offers no SocialPilot import tool, so the queue is rebuilt manually. Start on Core at $19 to test publishing reliability. Price the Plus jump before you move client work across, because approval workflows only exist from $89. Use Client Connect during onboarding so you never take client passwords again. Rebuild your report templates in Report Hub, since SocialPilot’s report layouts do not export in a reusable format.
Compare them in PostMonk vs Sendible, or read our roundup of agency tools in Sendible’s class.
7. Hootsuite: Best for Enterprise Social Listening (3.6/5)
Hootsuite scores 3.6 out of 5 and is the only tool here with serious social listening, through its Talkwalker integration. It supports 10 native networks and connects to more than 100 third-party apps, the broadest ecosystem in this pool. It is also the most expensive option, at $99 per user per month on annual billing.
Hootsuite sits in Tier 3 because it serves a different buyer than SocialPilot’s core market. It is a move up in budget and scale, not a lateral switch.
Best for: Enterprise and mid-market teams that need social listening and can absorb per-seat pricing.
Key Features
Hootsuite’s depth is in listening, governance, and integrations rather than in publishing mechanics.
-
Talkwalker social listening depth that no tool at this price point matches
-
10 native networks: Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Pinterest, WhatsApp, and Bluesky
-
More than 100 third-party app integrations
-
Automated inbox, custom reports, and trend forecasting on Professional
-
Content approval workflows, message routing, and team performance reporting on Advanced
-
Enterprise support arrangements and role-based governance
Pros
Two of these are capabilities SocialPilot simply does not have.
-
Social listening across eight source types through Talkwalker
-
The broadest integration ecosystem on this list, at more than 100 apps
-
10 native networks, matching SocialPilot’s breadth
-
Enterprise-grade governance, role permissions, and team performance reporting
-
G2 named it the number one Best Software Product for 2026
Cons
Price and complexity are the reasons SocialPilot users rarely land here.
-
$99 per user per month at annual billing, more than three times SocialPilot Essentials
-
Approval workflows require Advanced at $399 per user per month, where SocialPilot includes them from $50
-
No free plan, and the previous free tier was withdrawn
-
No BYOK AI, no native MCP server, and no public REST API or webhooks
-
The interface is heavy. Efficient.app’s July 2026 review called it “way too feature rich (overwhelming)” for typical needs.
-
Pricing restructured between June and July 2026, so older comparisons quote a $249 Advanced tier
Pricing
Hootsuite bills per user, and its self-serve structure moved to three tiers in July 2026.
| Plan | Annual billing | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | $99/user/mo | Multi-network scheduling, limited analytics |
| Professional | $199/user/mo | Automated inbox, custom reports, trend forecasting |
| Advanced | $399/user/mo | Approval workflows, message routing, team performance |
Five users on Professional reaches $995 a month. Confirm current tiers on the Hootsuite plans page.
What Users Say
Hootsuite’s enterprise credibility is its strongest signal, and cost is its most consistent criticism. HelperMan’s May 2026 YouTube review called the pricing “expensive, especially for smaller creators or freelancers who only manage a few accounts”. Interface density is the second recurring theme. Capterra rates Hootsuite 4.4 out of 5 across 3,799 reviews. Trustpilot sits at 1.3 out of 5 across 554, almost entirely on billing and cancellation disputes. Our Hootsuite review breaks down where the listening depth justifies the price.
Migrating from SocialPilot to Hootsuite
Hootsuite runs paid onboarding and migration support at enterprise level, and there is no self-serve SocialPilot importer. Export your SocialPilot queue and reports first, then rebuild the calendar in Hootsuite’s composer. Count seats before committing, because the per-user model is what decides the total, not the account count. Start listening streams early, since Talkwalker builds its history from the setup date.
See PostMonk vs Hootsuite for the contrast, or other enterprise-scale options if the seat price does not clear.
8. Loomly: Best for Visual Brand Calendars (3.0/5)
Loomly scores 3.0 out of 5, the lowest on this list, and the reason is pricing rather than product. Its calendar, visual post mockups, and approval workflows are genuinely good. It rates 4.7 on Capterra across 509 reviews and 4.6 on G2 across 1,793. Bending Spoons acquired it in January 2025 and compressed four tiers into two.
That compression is the buyer risk. There is nothing between the Starter and Beyond plans, and the gap is $200 a month.
Best for: Small teams of three or fewer who need visual brand calendars and will not outgrow 12 accounts.
Key Features
Loomly is a content-process tool with scheduling attached, not a publishing engine.
-
Visual content calendar with per-network post mockups
-
Approval workflows with granular custom roles on Beyond
-
Brand asset management and ad campaign scheduling
-
AI Assistant chat included on Starter, with credits capped and no key option
-
Nine supported networks
-
Hashtag manager, custom branding, and calendar 2FA enforcement on Beyond
Pros
The calendar and the approval process are what people move here for.
-
Visual mockups showing exactly how each post renders per network
-
Ease of use rates 4.5 out of 5 in our review, ahead of SocialPilot’s interface
-
Approval workflows with granular permissions
-
Starter covers 12 accounts and 3 users at $49 a month annually, against SocialPilot Standard at $50 for 15 and 3
-
Nonprofit discount of 50%, applied for the lifetime of the account
Cons
The pricing structure is the reason this scores lowest, and it is worth reading twice.
-
Only two self-serve tiers. Starter at $49 a month annually, then Beyond at $249, with nothing between.
-
Capterra reviewer Jolinda A. documented a 996% increase in April 2025, from $300 a year to $2,988
-
No MCP server, no public REST API, and no webhooks
-
No BYOK AI, and AI credits are capped
-
Human support was replaced with a chatbot after the acquisition
-
Failed post notifications are a documented complaint across multiple Capterra reviews
-
Annual plans are charged upfront and cannot be terminated early
Pricing
Loomly has two self-serve tiers, and the step between them is the largest on this list.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Social accounts | Users |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $65/mo | $49/mo | 12 | 3 |
| Beyond | $332/mo | $249/mo | 60 | Unlimited |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | 61+ | Unlimited |
If you expect to pass 12 accounts or 3 users, price the Beyond tier before you start. Current figures are on the Loomly pricing page.
What Users Say
Loomly’s calendar and ease of use are praised consistently across Capterra and G2. The dominant negative theme since 2025 is pricing, with community threads documenting increases that pushed some accounts from double-digit to triple-digit monthly bills. Support quality is the second theme, following the move to chatbot-first help. Our Loomly review covers the post-acquisition changes in full.
Migrating from SocialPilot to Loomly
Loomly has no SocialPilot importer, and there is no CSV bulk upload to shortcut the rebuild. Use the free trial to load two weeks of content and confirm the calendar workflow suits your team. Check your account and user count against the 12-account and 3-user Starter ceiling before paying, because the next tier is $249 a month annually. Avoid the annual plan on the first purchase, since it is charged upfront and cannot be cancelled mid-term.
See PostMonk vs Loomly for the direct comparison, or other visual calendar tools if the tier gap is a problem.
Which SocialPilot Alternative Is Right for You?
The right choice depends on which SocialPilot limitation pushed you out, not on which tool ranks highest overall.
-
If the subscription itself is the problem: PostMonk, at $29 to $99 once, with no renewal and multi-provider BYOK AI.
-
If reporting is the problem: Metricool, which measures social, website, and paid ad performance together and starts free for one brand.
-
If SocialPilot felt overloaded: Buffer, free for 3 channels, with the simplest interface here and MCP on every plan.
-
If client sign-off is your bottleneck: Planable, with four approval modes and client review links that need no login.
-
If you spend more time replying than scheduling: Agorapulse, with a full inbox and Google Analytics conversion tracking.
-
If you need credential-free client onboarding: Sendible, from $19 a month with unlimited users, though white-label starts at $299.
-
If you need social listening at enterprise scale: Hootsuite, at $99 per user per month with Talkwalker depth.
-
If visual brand calendars matter most: Loomly, at $49 a month annually, provided you stay under 12 accounts.
SocialPilot is still the right answer for a specific profile, and it is worth saying so. Post mainly to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X, run a team of three or fewer, and want an MCP server on an entry plan? Nothing here beats $50 a month for 15 accounts and 3 users. The tools above win when your network mix, your reporting depth, your AI workflow, or your approval process fall outside that shape.
If the subscription is what you want to end, start a PostMonk workspace and test it against your live queue during the 7-day trial.
FAQs
What is the best alternative to SocialPilot?
The strongest SocialPilot alternatives are PostMonk, Metricool, and Buffer, depending on which limitation you are escaping. PostMonk replaces the subscription with a one-time payment from $29 and adds multi-provider BYOK AI. Metricool adds website traffic and paid ad reporting beside social analytics. Buffer offers a permanent free plan and a much simpler interface than SocialPilot.
Is there a free version of SocialPilot?
No. SocialPilot offers a 14-day free trial and a separate 100-credit trial, but no permanent free plan. Three alternatives here do run one. Buffer covers 3 channels with 10 posts each. Metricool covers 1 brand with 20 posts a month, and Planable allows 50 posts for the account lifetime. Agorapulse, Sendible, Hootsuite, and Loomly are trial-only.
How long does it take to migrate from SocialPilot?
Migrating from SocialPilot takes a few hours for a small account and a full day for an agency. Reconnecting social accounts is the slow step, because each network runs its own authorisation flow. Exporting your queue as CSV and your reports as PDF takes minutes. No tool on this list ships a SocialPilot importer, so approval rules and tags are rebuilt by hand.
What data can I export from SocialPilot before I cancel?
You can export your scheduled post queue as CSV from the Content Library, download stored media assets, and export analytics reports as PDF or CSV. Analytics history itself cannot move to another tool. Capture what you need before cancelling, then rely on native platform analytics such as Instagram Insights and LinkedIn Analytics for historical reference.
Can I trial an alternative while still paying for SocialPilot?
Yes, and running both in parallel is the safest way to switch. Buffer, Metricool, and Planable have permanent free plans you can connect alongside SocialPilot indefinitely. Agorapulse gives 30 days and PostMonk gives 7, both without a credit card. Publish through one tool at a time to avoid duplicate posts on the same account.
Does SocialPilot delete my data if I cancel?
SocialPilot’s help centre documents account deletion through the Options icon on the account you want to remove. Cancelling a subscription and deleting an account are separate actions. Export your queue, media, and reports before you do either, because there is no documented restore path once an account is deleted.
Is SocialPilot trustworthy?
SocialPilot is a legitimate platform that has operated since 2015, holds SOC 2 compliance, and serves more than 15,000 customers. Its ratings split by audience. G2 gives it 4.5 out of 5 across 846 reviews and Capterra 4.4 across 374. Trustpilot gives it 2.6 across 38, dominated by billing and refund disputes.
What is the difference between SocialBee and SocialPilot?
SocialBee starts at $29 a month and organises posts into content categories that refill the queue automatically. It adds a unified social inbox and a 14-day trial. SocialPilot starts at $30 a month for 7 accounts and adds bulk CSV scheduling on Premium. SocialPilot covers more networks, and neither tool runs a permanent free plan.
Is SocialPilot better than Hootsuite?
SocialPilot is better value for agencies managing many accounts on a small team, at $50 a month for 15 accounts and 3 users. Hootsuite is better for enterprises that need Talkwalker social listening and more than 100 integrations, at $99 per user per month. G2’s comparison is blunt: “the lower price point may come with trade-offs in terms of advanced features.”
What is the cheapest SocialPilot alternative over three years?
PostMonk is the cheapest at any horizon. Starter costs $29 once, against $360 for one year and $1,080 for three years of SocialPilot Essentials at $30 a month. Buffer’s free plan costs nothing for 3 channels. Among ongoing subscriptions, Sendible Core at $19 a month is the lowest paid entry point here.
