Best Free Social Media Tools in 2026: Plans That Actually Stay Free

Buffer, Metricool, Zoho Social, Social Champ, and Meta Business Suite have real free plans. We verified every limit, including the ones the pricing pages hide.

by Subhana Bintay Azam | 13 August 2026

Buffer is the best free social media tool for most people, followed by Metricool, Zoho Social, Social Champ, and Meta Business Suite. Those five publish a free plan that never expires. We checked every limit against the live pricing pages in August 2026.

Most “best free” lists pad the count with 14-day and 30-day trials. Below: a scored comparison and the free-plan limits the pricing pages leave out. Then which free plans an AI agent can operate, and a breakdown of each tool.

Vendor disclosure: PostMonk built this page and has a financial interest in recommending PostMonk. We score every tool on the same seven-category weighted methodology, PostMonk included, and each score here matches that tool’s own review on this site. PostMonk’s limits are stated plainly, starting with the fact that it has no free plan. The methodology section below links our full rubric.

Quick comparison: best free social media tools

Buffer is the strongest starting point for most users. Its free plan reaches 11 networks with 3 connected at a time, and it holds 10 queued posts per channel with no monthly ceiling.

The overall score below is each tool’s global rating on our seven-category rubric. The list order is different, because it ranks by what the free tier actually delivers.

Tool Overall score Free plan? Free channels Free posts Best for
Buffer 3.5/5 Free forever 3 at once, 11 networks 10 queued per channel Multi-platform simplicity
Metricool 3.5/5 Free forever 1 brand, 10 networks (no LinkedIn or X) 20 per month Analytics depth
Zoho Social 3.3/5 Free forever 6 channels Unlimited High-volume posting
Social Champ 3.8/5 Free forever 3 accounts, 9 networks 15 per month Cheapest paid upgrade
Meta Business Suite 2.9/5 Free forever Facebook and Instagram only Unlimited Facebook and Instagram users
PostMonk 3.7/5 7-day trial Full access Full during trial Lifetime ownership
Later 2.9/5 Undocumented free tier Full access on trial Not published Instagram-first creators

PostMonk and Later are not free-plan tools. They sit in their own sections because both run a full-access trial with no card required. Both suit anyone expecting to outgrow a free plan within 90 days.

What “free” really means in social media tools

Not all tools marketed as “free” work the same way. This category has three distinct types.

Free forever plan: a permanent free tier with no expiration. You sign up, connect accounts, and use the tool indefinitely at no cost. Buffer, Metricool, Zoho Social, Social Champ, and Meta Business Suite publish one. No credit card is required.

Free trial: full or near-full access for a set number of days, then you pay or lose access. PostMonk (7 days), Vista Social (14 days), Hootsuite (30 days), and Agorapulse (30 days) sit here. A trial is a purchase evaluation period, not a free product.

Freemium: a permanently limited version you can use indefinitely, with core features gated to paid tiers. Buffer’s free plan is the clearest example. It is fully functional for 3 channels but has no first comment scheduling, hashtag manager, or branded reports.

Later is the awkward fourth case. A free tier exists and includes Link in Bio. Later no longer describes it on the pricing page and does not publish its post limits. Treat the 14-day trial as the real evaluation path.

Three tools routinely listed as free offer no usable free plan. Here is what each actually costs:

Tool often listed as free What it actually offers Cost after the trial
Vista Social No free plan. 14-day trial, no card $79/month (Professional)
Agorapulse No free plan. 30-day trial, no card $79/month per user (annual billing)
Later Undocumented free tier. 14-day trial, no card $18.75/month (annual billing)

Sources: Vista Social pricing and Agorapulse pricing, both fetched August 2026.

Agorapulse is the clearest case of stale data spreading. Its own 2024 blog post calls it “a whole free social media management tool that doesn’t have a time limit,” and roundups still repeat that. Its live pricing page now shows only the 30-day trial.

Free-plan limits the pricing pages do not show

Four of these free plans carry a real restriction that is not on the pricing page. Each one was confirmed in the tool’s own help documentation or in our full review of it.

  • Buffer caps you at 8 unique channel connections for the lifetime of the free account. You hold 3 at a time, but you cannot keep swapping them forever. Once you have connected 8 different accounts, the free plan stops accepting new ones.
  • Metricool watermarks free analytics charts and blocks report downloads. A brand also cannot be deleted once created, and a competitor cannot be removed from the 5 tracked profiles.
  • Metricool’s competitor benchmarking covers 5 networks, not all 10. Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, and Twitch only. LinkedIn competitor data does not exist at any price.
  • Social Champ stores 2 weeks of metrics on free, and 15 posts is a monthly cap. Google’s AI Overview calls the tier unlimited. The pricing page does not.

None of these appear in the roundups currently ranking for this query. The Buffer connection cap is the one most likely to catch you out, because it only bites months after signup.

Which free plans an AI agent can actually operate

Two of the five free plans here expose an MCP server. An AI agent such as Claude or ChatGPT can then draft and schedule posts without you opening the app. No other free-tools roundup separates this, and it is the widest capability gap between these tiers.

  • Buffer: a native MCP server on every plan, free included. Connected agents draft posts, manage the queue, and schedule. The free tier allows 1 API key and 3,000 requests per month, roughly 100 per day.
  • Metricool: an official open-source MCP server on any plan, free included. It ships 20-plus tools, but only two of them write. Metricool’s REST API stays gated to Advanced and Custom.
  • Social Champ: an MCP endpoint exists, but it is developer-facing and free-plan access to it is not documented.

Zoho Social and Meta Business Suite document no agent access. PostMonk’s MCP server carries a full write surface, but it sits on the paid Pro plan.

How we evaluate free social media tools

Seven weighted categories produce every overall score in this article. Each is rated from 1.0 to 5.0, and the weighted average is the score out of 5. The same rubric governs every PostMonk review, so a 3.5 here means what it means everywhere.

  1. Scheduling and publishing (25%): post limits, queue, calendar, recurring posts, bulk scheduling, and whether the tool auto-publishes or only sends a reminder.
  2. Channels and integrations (20%): which platforms are supported, how deeply, and the breadth of third-party integrations.
  3. Content creation (15%): AI writing tools, media library, templates, and the image or video editor.
  4. Analytics and reporting (15%): depth of data, lookback period, and competitor analysis.
  5. Ease of use (10%): interface learning curve, mobile app quality, and setup time.
  6. Pricing and value (10%): what each tier unlocks and how cost scales.
  7. Support and reputation (5%): response time, documentation quality, and verified aggregate ratings.

Read the full methodology for the scoring criteria and evidence procedure.

One thing to be clear about: this list is not ordered by that overall score. It ranks by free-plan strength. That weighs posts allowed, channels connected, analytics retained, AI usable at no cost, and whether an agent can operate the plan.

The two measures disagree here, and the disagreement matters. Social Champ carries the highest overall score in this article at 3.8/5. Its free plan still allows 15 posts a month and stores two weeks of metrics. A tool cannot top a “best free” list on the strength of features you have to pay for.

Buffer: Best for simplicity and the widest free reach

Overall score: 3.5/5. Free forever plan. Ranked first on free-plan strength.

Buffer’s free plan is the most complete of the five. It reaches 11 networks, connects 3 at a time, and needs no tutorial. It also pairs the widest network choice with the most stable publishing record in this list.

Key Features

Buffer’s free plan includes the items below.

  • 3 channels connected at once, with a lifetime cap of 8 unique channel connections
  • 10 scheduled posts per channel in the queue at any time, refilling as posts publish
  • 1 user account
  • AI Assistant for text generation, with no credit cap
  • Ideas board (100 ideas)
  • Comment management across 10 of the 11 networks
  • API and MCP server access (1 key, 3,000 requests per month)
  • Basic analytics with 30 days of history

Buffer’s free plan reaches Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, Mastodon, Threads, Bluesky, and Google Business Profile.

Not included on free: first comment scheduling, hashtag manager, custom analytics, and branded reports.

Pros

Four strengths hold up against the other free plans here.

  • The scheduling interface is the simplest in this category. Calendar view, queue view, and post creation all work without a tutorial.
  • The queue is not a monthly cap. As each post publishes, the slot refills, so a solo creator on 3 channels can post daily forever.
  • Buffer publishes its own numbers, which almost no rival does: $25.4M ARR, 234,648 monthly active users, and 77,604 customers. It calls itself “independent since 2010 and profitable for most of that time.”
  • An AI agent can operate the free plan through Buffer’s MCP server. No other free tier here gives an agent that much publishing reach.

Cons

Three limits are worth knowing before you commit.

  • The lifetime cap of 8 unique channel connections cannot be reset. I ran out of swaps long before I ran out of use for the plan.
  • Analytics stop at a rolling 30-day window with no custom date ranges. Advanced analytics reach only 4 of the 11 networks, and only on paid plans.
  • Per-channel pricing compounds. Ten channels at $5 per month each, billed annually, is $50 per month, above flat-rate rivals at that scale.

Pricing

Free forever. Paid plans start at $5 per month per channel, billed annually. See Buffer’s pricing page for current rates and the volume discount above 10 channels.

What Users Say

Buffer earns 4.3/5 on G2 from 1,040 reviews and 4.5/5 on Capterra from 1,491 reviews. Praise centres on ease of use and reliable publishing. Criticism targets per-channel pricing at scale and thin free-plan analytics.

For more detail, see the full Buffer review, Buffer alternatives, or PostMonk vs. Buffer.

Metricool: Best free analytics depth

Overall score: 3.5/5. Free forever plan. Ranked second on free-plan strength.

Metricool’s free plan includes competitor benchmarking for 5 profiles, which every other tool here gates behind a paid tier. The tradeoff is a hard 20-post monthly cap and no LinkedIn or X. For creators who post infrequently but want real data, it is the strongest free option.

Several Google AI Overviews state that Metricool’s free plan allows “up to 50 scheduled posts a month.” That is wrong. Metricool’s pricing page, verified in August 2026, caps the free plan at 20 posts per month.

Key Features

Metricool’s free plan includes the items below.

  • 1 brand or profile
  • 20 posts per month, a hard cap rather than a queue
  • Competitor analysis across 5 competitor profiles
  • 30 days of analytics history
  • AI social media assistant, capped at 5 credits per month
  • Unified inbox and hashtag search
  • One SmartLink (link-in-bio)
  • Google Drive and Canva integration
  • Official MCP server access on any plan, free included

Metricool’s free plan reaches Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, Google Business Profile, Bluesky, and Web/Blog.

Not included on free: LinkedIn and X, which both require paid add-ons.

Pros

Three strengths make this the analytics pick.

  • Competitor benchmarking at no cost is the standout. I track five competitors’ posting frequency, engagement, and follower growth before spending a dollar.
  • Thirty days of analytics history on free matches Buffer’s free tier, and adds the competitor data Buffer has at no price.
  • The MCP server works on the free plan, so I pull performance data into Claude or ChatGPT before paying anything.

Cons

Four limits bite, and two of them are not on the pricing page.

  • 20 posts per month is a hard ceiling. I hit it in the first week posting daily to TikTok and Instagram together.
  • Free analytics charts carry a watermark and reports cannot be downloaded. A brand also cannot be deleted once created.
  • Competitor benchmarking covers only Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, and Twitch. LinkedIn competitor data does not exist on any plan.
  • The MCP server reads far more than it writes. Only two of its 20-plus tools write, so an agent can schedule a post but cannot approve one.

Pricing

Free forever. Starter from $20 per month, Advanced from $53 per month. Annual billing saves roughly 24%. See Metricool pricing for current rates.

What Users Say

Metricool earns 4.5/5 on G2 from 97 reviews and 4.4/5 on Capterra from 97 reviews. Analytics depth on the free plan draws the highest marks. Billing complaints about auto-renewal on paid plans recur. Metricool was acquired by team.blue in 2024.

For more detail, see the full Metricool review, Metricool alternatives, or PostMonk vs. Metricool.

Zoho Social: Best for unlimited free posting

Overall score: 3.3/5. Free forever plan. Ranked third on free-plan strength.

Zoho Social’s free plan has no post volume cap. That makes it the pick for active posters who find Metricool’s 20-post limit constraining. The tradeoff is 5 AI credits in total, which is effectively no AI assistance.

Key Features

Zoho Social’s free plan includes the items below.

  • 1 brand
  • 6 social channels
  • 1 team member
  • Unlimited post scheduling with no monthly cap
  • Basic summary reports
  • Publishing calendar, content drafts, and image editor
  • zShare browser extension
  • 24/5 email support
  • 5 AI credits in total, not per month

Zoho Social’s free plan reaches Facebook Pages, X Profiles, Instagram Business Profiles, LinkedIn Profiles, LinkedIn Company Pages, and Google Business Profile.

Zoho Social activates the free plan after a 15-day trial period, with no credit card. The account converts permanently to the free plan afterwards. This is a freemium activation flow, not a trial that expires.

Pros

Three strengths set this plan apart.

  • No post limit means I post as often as the calendar demands. Daily posts across six channels cost nothing.
  • LinkedIn and X are both included on the free plan. Metricool’s free plan excludes both.
  • 24/5 email support on a free plan beats every other free tier here.

Cons

Four limits are worth weighing.

  • 5 AI credits in total is not a usable feature. It runs out in a single session, so bring your own AI workflow.
  • One brand only. Managing a client account or a second business requires a paid plan.
  • Analytics are basic summary reports. No competitor analysis, no deep engagement breakdown, and no custom date ranges.
  • Onboarding leans toward Zoho CRM and the wider suite. Outside that ecosystem, setup feels aimed at products you do not use.

Pricing

Free forever, after the 15-day activation with no credit card. Paid plan rates are listed at Zoho Social pricing.

Social Champ: Best for the cheapest upgrade path

Overall score: 3.8/5. Free forever plan. Ranked fourth on free-plan strength.

Social Champ carries the highest overall score in this article, and the thinnest free plan of the five. The free tier covers nine networks across 3 accounts, then upgrades at $4 per month per account billed annually. That is the lowest paid entry point here.

Key Features

Social Champ’s free plan includes the items below.

  • 3 social accounts
  • 15 scheduled posts per month
  • 2 weeks of stored metrics
  • 1 user
  • AI Imaginator: 3 lifetime credits
  • AI Content Wizard: 3 lifetime credits

Social Champ’s free plan reaches Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Google Business Profile, Mastodon, Threads, and Bluesky.

Google’s AI Overview describes this tier as offering unlimited or high-volume scheduling. The live pricing page caps it at 15 posts a month, and unlimited scheduling starts on the $29 Standard plan.

Pros

Two strengths justify a place on this list.

  • Nine networks at no cost, including TikTok, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, and Google Business Profile. Only Buffer’s free plan reaches more.
  • The pay-per-profile entry at $4 per month per account, billed annually, is the cheapest upgrade here. Buffer’s is $5 per channel and Metricool’s Starter is $20.

Cons

Three limits keep it fourth on free-plan strength.

  • 15 posts a month across 3 accounts is five posts per account. That is an interface test, not a publishing plan.
  • 2 weeks of stored metrics means I lose performance history before a monthly report is due.
  • 3 lifetime AI credits is not a functional AI feature. It runs out in a single session.

Pricing

Free forever. Pay-per-profile plans start at $4 per month per account billed annually, or $5 billed monthly. Bundled plans start at Standard, $29 per month or $23.20 per month billed annually for 6 accounts. See Social Champ pricing.

For more detail, see the full Social Champ review, Social Champ alternatives, or PostMonk vs. Social Champ.

Meta Business Suite: Best if you only use Facebook and Instagram

Overall score: 2.9/5. Free forever and native. Ranked fifth on free-plan strength.

Meta Business Suite is not a social media management platform. It is a native scheduler built into Meta’s infrastructure. It is also the only tool here with no pricing page, no plan tiers, and no account needed beyond a Facebook Business Page.

Key Features

Meta Business Suite includes the items below.

  • Unlimited scheduled posts for Facebook Pages and Instagram Business accounts
  • Native inbox for comments and direct messages across both platforms
  • Meta Insights, the native analytics for both platforms
  • Content planner and calendar
  • No cost, no plan tiers, no card

Pros

Three strengths make it worth checking before you add a third-party tool.

  • Genuinely free, with no pricing page, no card, and no upgrade path.
  • Unlimited scheduling with no post caps of any kind.
  • Native analytics for Facebook and Instagram are often more accurate than third-party tools, because the data comes straight from Meta’s API.

Cons

Four limits cap how far it goes.

  • The moment I add a network beyond Facebook and Instagram, I need a second tool. Meta Business Suite does not extend outside the Meta ecosystem.
  • Meta’s interface changes often without notice. Features move or disappear in platform updates.
  • No AI content creation, and no integration with tools outside Meta.
  • Data stays inside Meta, with no export to third-party analytics.

Pricing

No cost. Available at Meta Business Suite with any Facebook Business Page.

PostMonk: Best if you are ready to stop renting your software (7-day free trial)

Overall score: 3.7/5. A 7-day free trial, no card required.

Disclosure: PostMonk built this page and has a financial interest in your choosing PostMonk. PostMonk was scored on the same seven-category rubric as every other tool here, and its limits are listed plainly below.

PostMonk has no free plan. It has a 7-day trial with full access to every feature and no card required. After the trial, the Starter plan is $29 one time, not per month and not per year. For someone leaving Buffer’s free plan, $29 buys the software outright, against roughly six months of Buffer’s cheapest paid tier at one channel.

Key Features

The feature set below is what the trial opens up.

  • Bring your own AI key on every plan: connect your own OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, or OpenRouter API key. No PostMonk credit caps apply.
  • Managed AI credits if you prefer not to use your own key: 8,000 per month on Starter, 20,000 on Pro, 40,000 on Agency.
  • Scheduling: queue, recurring posts, CSV bulk import, and performance rules triggered by engagement.
  • 9 supported platforms.
  • Instagram grid planner with drag-and-drop preview.
  • Content approval workflow and Brand Assets, which are isolated per-brand workspaces.
  • MCP server on Pro and Agency. Across the 17 competitors we track, no rival pairs a full write-surface MCP server with one-time pricing.
  • REST API and webhooks on Pro and Agency, plus white-label PDF reports and a client portal on Agency.

PostMonk’s plans are one-time purchases rather than subscriptions:

Plan Price Brand Assets Accounts Seats Posts/month
Starter $29 1 5 1 500
Pro $59 5 25 3 5,000
Agency $99 25 100 10 20,000

See PostMonk pricing for full plan details.

Pros

Three strengths separate it from the free plans above.

  • Bringing my own key across five providers means no platform credit cap. I connect an Anthropic key and pay cents per session directly to the provider.
  • I pay once and keep the software. The $29 Starter breaks even against Buffer’s $5 channel in under six months, and against Metricool’s $20 Starter in under two.
  • The MCP server on Pro lets an agent draft, schedule, and publish through the full API surface. Buffer’s free MCP drafts and schedules, without the approval, media, and template writes.

Cons

Two limits are real, and both matter for this list.

  • PostMonk has no free plan. The 7-day trial expires, and then I pay or lose access. Buffer and Metricool have free plans with no expiry date.
  • PostMonk has no third-party reviews on G2, Capterra, or Trustpilot as of August 2026. The platform is new and its long-term reliability is unproven.

For context on where PostMonk fits, see best AI social media tools, lifetime deal social media tools, and what is MCP.

Later: Best for Instagram-first creators (14-day free trial)

Overall score: 2.9/5. A 14-day free trial, no card required.

Later’s free tier still exists and includes Link in Bio. Later no longer describes it on the pricing page or publishes its post limits. The 14-day trial is the honest way to evaluate it. Paid access starts at $18.75 per month billed annually.

Key Features

Later’s strength is visual planning rather than breadth.

  • Visual Instagram grid planner with drag-and-drop preview before scheduling
  • Linkin.bio, its link-in-bio product, included on the free tier
  • Instagram-first scheduling model
  • Multi-platform support on paid plans

The Starter plan after the trial covers 1 social set of 8 profiles and 30 posts per profile per month. It adds 1 user, 3 months of analytics history, and 5 AI credits per month.

Pros

Two strengths stand out for Instagram-led accounts.

  • The Instagram grid planner is the most visual scheduling interface I have used. Seeing how a post fits the grid before it publishes saves real time.
  • Link in Bio is included on the free tier, so a separate link-in-bio subscription is not needed to test it.

Cons

Three limits keep it out of the free-plan ranking.

  • The free tier’s limits are undocumented. Later stopped describing them on its pricing page, so there is no published allowance to plan against.
  • Paid access starts at $18.75 per month billed annually. In under two months that exceeds PostMonk’s one-time $29 Starter.
  • Later publishes to eight platforms but reports analytics on only five. LinkedIn, YouTube, and Snapchat get no analytics on any plan.

Pricing

Undocumented free tier. 14-day trial, then from $18.75 per month billed annually, or $25 billed monthly. See Later pricing for current rates.

For more detail, see the full Later review, Later alternatives, or PostMonk vs. Later.

How to choose the right free social media tool

No single free tool wins every situation. Match your constraint to the right pick using the framework below.

By platform focus:

You need Best free option
Only Facebook and Instagram Meta Business Suite (free, unlimited)
Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube (no LinkedIn or X) Metricool free plan
Multiple platforms including LinkedIn or X Buffer free plan or Zoho Social free plan
TikTok, Threads, Bluesky, or Mastodon Buffer free plan

Social Champ’s free plan reaches nine of those same networks. Buffer covers eleven and keeps 30 days of analytics against Social Champ’s two weeks.

By posting volume:

Volume Best option
Under 20 posts per month Metricool or Buffer
20 to 60 posts per month Zoho Social (unlimited) or Buffer (queue refills as posts publish)
Daily posting across 3 or more channels Buffer or Zoho Social

By AI workflow:

  • You want an agent to draft and schedule: Buffer free plan, which has full MCP write access
  • You want an agent to read your analytics: Metricool free plan, whose MCP is read-heavy

By budget:

  • Permanently $0: Buffer, Metricool, or Zoho Social
  • $4 per month per account is acceptable: Social Champ
  • You want out of subscriptions entirely: PostMonk, at $29 one time after the trial

Budget planning past the free tier is its own exercise. Our breakdown of what social media software actually costs sets the per-channel, per-seat, and one-time models side by side.

By team size:

  • Solo creator: any of the five free plans above
  • Small team with several clients: no free plan handles this, since all cap at 1 brand or 1 user

For paid tools too, see our best social media management tools and best social media scheduling tools roundups. Businesses with a budget should also read our picks for small business teams. For PostMonk’s own feature set, see PostMonk’s full platform.

Verdict

Five tools publish a free plan that never expires: Buffer, Metricool, Zoho Social, Social Champ, and Meta Business Suite. The ranking below is by free-plan strength, with each tool’s global overall score in brackets.

  1. Buffer (3.5/5 overall): the most complete free plan for multi-platform creators. Three channels, a refilling queue, MCP access for agents, and 30 days of analytics. Watch the lifetime cap of 8 channel connections.
  2. Metricool (3.5/5 overall): the best free analytics, and the only free competitor benchmarking here. The 20-post cap and the missing LinkedIn and X are real constraints.
  3. Zoho Social (3.3/5 overall): the only free plan with no post cap, across 6 channels including LinkedIn and X. The AI allowance is negligible.
  4. Social Champ (3.8/5 overall): the cheapest route off a free plan at $4 per month per account. The free tier itself is an evaluation, not a workflow.
  5. Meta Business Suite (2.9/5 overall): genuinely zero cost, if Facebook and Instagram are your only channels.

PostMonk (3.7/5) and Later (2.9/5) run trials rather than free plans. Both suit anyone expecting to outgrow a free plan within 90 days. PostMonk is the pick for readers with subscription fatigue, because $29 is a one-time cost rather than a recurring fee.

PostMonk’s trial needs no card and opens every feature for 7 days.

FAQs

What is the best free social media management tool?

Buffer is the best free social media management tool. Its free plan covers 3 channels, a queue with no monthly post cap, and analytics that never expire. Metricool is the pick for analytics, and Zoho Social for unlimited posting to 6 channels. PostMonk scores higher overall but runs a 7-day trial, not a free plan.

What social media tools have a genuinely free plan, not just a trial?

Five tools publish a free-forever plan as of August 2026. Buffer gives 3 channels and 10 queued posts per channel. Metricool gives 1 brand and 20 posts a month. Zoho Social gives 6 channels and unlimited posts. Social Champ gives 3 accounts and 15 posts a month. Meta Business Suite covers Facebook and Instagram only.

How many posts can I schedule for free on Buffer?

Buffer’s free plan holds 10 posts per channel in the queue at any time. Each slot refills as its post publishes, so there is no monthly cap. You can schedule continuously while staying at or below 10 queued posts per channel, across 3 connected channels.

Does Metricool’s free plan include LinkedIn?

No. Metricool’s free plan excludes both LinkedIn and X, which require paid add-ons. Metricool also has no LinkedIn competitor benchmarking at any price. If LinkedIn or X is a core channel, use Buffer or Zoho Social instead. Both include the two networks on their free plans.

What is the best free social media planner?

Buffer is the best free social media planner for multi-platform posting. It gives 3 channels, no monthly post cap, and a calendar that needs no tutorial. Meta Business Suite is the better planner for a business whose whole presence is Facebook and Instagram. Zoho Social suits teams already inside the Zoho ecosystem.

What is the best free social media analytics tool?

Metricool is the best free social media analytics tool. Its free plan gives 30 days of history and 5 competitor profiles, plus an MCP server that feeds the data to Claude or ChatGPT. Buffer’s free analytics cover the same 30-day window without competitor tracking. Social Champ stores only 2 weeks.

Is a 7-day free trial worth it for social media tools?

Yes, when the price after the trial is acceptable. PostMonk’s $29 one-time Starter after its 7-day trial suits anyone leaving recurring subscriptions. For Vista Social and Agorapulse, both $79 per month minimum, the trial is useful but the ongoing cost is significant. Check the trial is long enough to test your real publishing week.

How do I manage multiple social media accounts for free?

Buffer manages 3 channels at no cost on a permanent free plan, though only 8 unique connections over the account’s lifetime. Zoho Social manages 1 brand across 6 channels at no cost. Beyond 3 channels or 1 brand, a paid plan or PostMonk’s one-time pricing becomes the cheaper path.
